The Open Call - Photography Opportunities

[ the open call ]

Friday, October 23

Hi, and happy Friday!

A good even split this week: a few ways to get out and get hosted on the creator side, and some proper photographer calls.

Let's go.

Social & creator roles

Coloc Creator Residency β€” Edition Two (Bruges)

Stays Nov 24–Dec 21
A rent-free creator residency in a shared luxury townhouse in Bruges: your own ensuite room, a food stipend, and two weeks to a month to make work over winter. Open to creators worldwide, run on a simple application form. Details are light and spots fill, so if a focused stretch in a beautiful Flemish city appeals, get in early. Apply

Sail Croatia β€” Content Creator Program

Rolling (they note demand is high)
A complimentary Croatia cruise in exchange for agreed content. Open to creators "of all sizes" with an engaged audience, no follower minimum. Bring a media kit when you apply. Apply

Radisson Hotels β€” Creator Hub

Rolling, open now
A standing program that pairs smaller creators with hosted hotel stays in exchange for content, and refreshingly, it's aimed at nano-creators (roughly 1,000–30,000 followers), so you don't need a huge audience to get a yes. Travel-storytelling focus. A genuinely useful one to have in your back pocket for an upcoming trip. Apply

For photographers

Insta360 x Leica Global Awards 2026

Deadline: Oct 31
A big photo-and-video awards run with Leica. Prize pool over $150,000 across six categories, travel among them, free to enter and open globally. Category winners take $750 (photo) or $1,200 (video) plus gear. The one catch: entries must be shot on an Insta360 camera, so this is really for anyone who already owns one. Enter

FOTODOKS Open Call 2027 β€” "Care"

Deadline: Nov 20
FotoDoks is a contemporary documentary festival in Munich, and the 2027 theme is care: welfare and its decline, the "self-care" we're sold, intimacy and who looks after whom. Free, worldwide, for existing lens-based documentary stories. Selected work gets an artist fee (€500 solo, up to €1,200 for collectives), travel covered (up to €500 from outside Europe), accommodation for the opening week, production for the group show, and a catalogue spot. Apply

Les Boutographies 2027 β€” Montpellier

Deadline: Nov 22
A well-regarded French festival of emerging and contemporary photography. Seven photographers are selected for the main exhibition (eleven more in the projection programme), with portfolio reviews alongside, and a strong prize list: a €1,000 Jury Prize, print purchases for the city collection, and further exhibition and magazine prizes. €23 to enter. Apply

[ the open call ] Friday, October 9th Hi, and happy Friday. Quick note on why this one's longer than usual: a batch of you didn't receive the last few weeks' opportunities (a delivery gremlin on my end β€” sorry!).
